Preference Lifestyle Collection EPC is a 12mm hybrid board — noticeably thicker than the 5mm to 8mm boards common in this category — which gives the floor a more solid feel underfoot and more substance at the doorway threshold. The wear surface is 0.7mm vinyl with a matte polyurethane coating; the matte finish matters in practice because it does not throw back glare in rooms with large windows and it does not show footprints and dust the way a gloss surface does. Boards run 1800mm long, so open-plan spaces show fewer end joins. The eight colours divide neatly: Australian natives (Spotted Gum, Blackbutt), soft neutrals (Oatmeal, Almond, Blissful, Harmony) and cooler contemporary greys (Husky Grey, Carbon).
